Episode 13 - This is the Way

This episode is one of our most fun to date!!  We have four members of the Arizona chapter of The Mandalorian Mercenaries Costume Club, joining us!!

Representing the Shonare Vhekadla Clan, we have DJ, Jeff, Tammy and Tiana.   Michelle joined us on the phone as she was sick.  We talked all things Mandalorian...both in the extended Star Wars universe and from the crazy popular Mandalorian TV show.  (Yes, yes, there was quite a bit of Baby Yoda talk going on...I mean how could you not?)

Stef will try not to rub it in to Michelle that she got to wear a helmet.  (Whatever, Stef, whatever....LOL)

If you want to check out the Shonare Vhekadla Clan, you can follow them on Instagram at SVC_Mando

Stefanie is geeking out over FINALLY getting settled in so she can play Star Wars: The Old Republic  (We may have lost her for a bit...)

Michelle is geeking out over Phoenix Fan Fusion guest announcements.  She is most excited over Clark Gregg, who has been a dream guest of hers for a while.  Though she suspects that most people are geeking out over Christopher Eccleston.

We are asking for your feedback on what you want to see for our Patreon for this year...what perks can we offer you to make you want to help support our podcast? We also want to know if we were to offer swag, what would you want to see?  Stickers? Pins? Shirts?

We LOVE to hear from you!

Episode 12 - Be My Galentine

It's a belated Galentine's Day from Stefanie and Michelle!

We discuss the best female friendships out there in honor of Galentine's Day.  Did we miss your favorite duo? Let us know!

Then we took a quiz to find out what kind of friend we are.  If you want to take the quiz, here is the link:  What Kind of Friend are you?  Please share your results with us.  Hopefully you aren't a Debbie Downer, like we were.

This led to the topic of inner diaglogue and the fact that some people evidently do not have dialogue in their heads.  What?  For Real?  NY Post Article about how this is possible.

We had a conversation about The Witcher and both totally agree that Henry Cavill grunting is exactly what we want.

Stefanie is geeking out over the new release of B.L. Brunnemer's book in the The Veil Diaries series, When The Dead Come Home.

Michelle is geeking out over the new podcast from Nicole Byer and Lauren Lapkus, Newcomers: Star Wars

We are wanting your feedback on what you want to see for our Patreon for this year...what perks can we offer you to make you want to help support our podcast? We also want to know if we were to offer swag, what would you want to see?  Stickers? Pins? Shirts?

Episode 10: Ask Us Anything!

It's the last episode of 2019! We posted an Ask Me Anything on our social media, so for episode 10 Stef and Mich are answering your questions...and dissecting all of OUR questions about The Rise of Skywalker.

We are both TOTALLY Geeking Out over THE WITCHER over on Netflix...well the fact that it is released as neither of us have actually watched yet. (Shall we take bets if either of us has watched more than one episode by the time we record the next episode?  We are kinda slow on these things!)

Stefanie, as you should know by now, is also a published author and released the second book in her current series, The Merry Maids.  Piecefinder is available on Amazon and please let us know if you read it.  (Michelle loves putting Stefanie on the spot about things so will ask all your burning questions.)

We thank you so much for heading into 2020 with us and hope that we continue to grow and improve as the year goes by.  Please let us know if there is something that you want to hear us discuss on the show.  We have a few ideas and plans for the year, including a couple of cool local AZ guests.

We also are working on our Patreon and hope that you will support us and help us grow.

As always the links are on the right side and we would love to hear from you.

Until our next geek out,
Stef and Mich

Episode Nine: Disney + is for adults

Episode Nine: Disney Plus is for Adults is live!

Stefane and Michelle are back after a short hiatus, which we talked about in the beginning of the podcast.  Stef was out of the country, adventuring about London and Ireland.  She recaps her trip and geeks out over Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. Mich had surgery to remove some cancerous tumors and shares about starting chemo this month, a diagnosis that came out of the blue.

Then your girls got down to the subject at hand and happily talked about Disney Plus!  There is so much nostalgic goodness on the app and it is hard to pin down that ONE show that makes us squee the most.

Okay, we know what makes us squee the most.  We are complete and total Baby Yoda Stans!

The Mandalorian is what Star Wars is all about.  The writing is brilliant.  And that baby! Oh my, look at that baby!!

We are both completely GEEKING OUT over FULLER HOUSE. (Spoiler Alert...Stef hasn't started the final season yet.)  Stef is also still geeking out over her experience seeing Harry Potter and the Cursed Child in London.  Mich's other geek out is Woman on the Edge by Samantha M. Bailey.

We love hearing from you! All of our links are on the right.  Let us know what you think of our podcast.  Talk about Disney Plus with us.  Or squee over Baby Yoda with us. Stef would love to talk London and Harry Potter with you and Mich will tell you all about how amazing Woman on the Edge was.

What would you like to hear about on our show?

(First fanart!!)

So, we have two shows out there for you to listen to and we are so excited that you are, ya know, listening.  Our two main goals with Pop Culture Junkees are to have fun and create a podcast that you want to interact with like you would with your friends.

With that said, what would you like to hear us talk about?  What piques your interest in pop culture?  What fandom do you want to see us talk about, possibly learn about? While we have a lot of ideas of what WE want to talk about, we want you to feel included as well.

Drop us a comment. Or you can send an email to popculturejunkees@gmail.com and let us know.

Also, don't forget that we have a Patreon and there are fun perks to being a supporter of the show, with more to come.  Patreon Link

xoxo,

Stef and Mich

Meet Michelle

Michelle is a pop culture aficionado with multiple fandoms running through her veins.  She works in Corporate America during the day and dabbles in many ventures/hobbies at night. An avid reader, this bibliophile has a huge To Be Read stack and was the owner of Michelle’s Book Nook, a review blog, for a couple of years. She has since hung up her reviewer hat unless it is a special circumstance.  Through Michelle’s life she has run through several of the fandoms, the soapie fandom being one of the most rewarding (and challenging).  During those years, she ran the Official Message Board for actress Carolyn Hennesy, was part of an event planning team for General Hospital Fan Club Weekend events for actresses Lisa LoCicero, Kent King, and Minae Noji, and was part of numerous campaigns on behalf of the fans of Carolyn Hennesy to promote her. Currently, Michelle is serving as an officer for Geek Girl Brunch’s Phoenix chapter and as the amateur baker part of the duo on the Bake It or Fake It blog.  Her latest venture is as co-host of Pop Culture Junkees podcast with her friend, Stefanie.   She is a Ravenclaw, Rebel Scum, and all things sass and confetti.  Michelle is the owner of The Unapologetic Dreamer and keep an eye out because she has a few other surprises up her sleeve.  You can follow her on social media at Twitter and Instagram
