Next up in our favorite episodes recap is Michelle’s favorite episode that we have done so far – Episode 8: GIRLS IN GEEKDOM from November 2019.
Michelle on why this episode was so important to her:
Geekdom is such a huge part of my life and being a female geek it is often a tiresome fight to be taken seriously. Geek girls are here to stay and it is about time that we be shown the same respect as male geeks. Some of the smartest women that I know are geeks and often times have shown that they are even more knowledgeable of the geek scene than men. I really loved this episode and the frank conversation about growing up as geek girls, what it means to us, and what we hope the future brings for us.
Huge shout outs to Geek Girl Brunch, Blue Ribbon Army, & Very Awesome Girls Phoenix for being such a strong geek presence in Arizona and empowering female geeks.
Michelle is geeking out over the rumor that there is going to be a Lando Calrissian series on Disney+, starring Donald Glover. She is very vocal about the fact that she really didn’t enjoy “Solo: A Star Wars Story”, but she absolutely LOVED Donald Glover’s portrayal of Lando and was hoping we’d see more of his adventures. (And hopefully they will get inspired to give us some Emfys Nest and Qi’Ra as well.)
Stefanie is geeking out over Comic-Con@home and being able to watch all the panels without the insanity of the lines at SDCC Not only are the panels all on line, but the vendors are having online sales. Sitting on your couch and watching panels and shopping in the summer? Perfect.
